JD Floen takes 1st in “Thuggin’ on a Box Tour”

TAVIK  riders, JD Floen and Jared McDaniel headed out to Las Vegas for the first contest of the season for the  5th Annual Thuggin’ on a Box Tour. JD lead the way, placing 1st while Jared took 3rd to help fill the spots on the winner’s podium. JD won best trick – 50/50 Gap Rodeo 5 over the corrugated tube. This event started in 2006 to help fight cancer. It has now grown into a west coast tour to continue the fight against cancer. MORE ABOUT THUGGIN ON A BOX SNOWBOARD TOUR
The 5th annual event started in 2006 to help fight cancer has grown into a tour to continue our fight against cancer. Snowboarders and Skiers of all ages will come together to showcase their skills playground style on a single flat box. Creativity and Style is key at this all ages throw down to fight cancer In memory of Gary Basket who passed away on 01/19/09. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the leukemia & lymphoma society. “Gary was a dear friend, a fighter and a true snowboarder, he will forever be missed and we shall shred in his honor.” said event founder Snowdogg Carter.

The 2011 Thuggin On A Box is coming to a mountain near you so get ready to throw down in your hood. *note this is not a violent event we only fight cancer.

Shiny Toy Guns visit TAVIK H.Q.

Shiny Toy Guns stops by the new Tavik headquarters to discuss future collaborations!

We are stoked about the release of their third album, titled “III.” Check out in the new single, “The Sun.” Carah Faye reunites again with Shiny Toy Guns as the original singer. After the band members tried on some of the new Tavik collection, Shiny Toy Guns joined  TAVIK and JACKSTIN for dinner. Big Belly Deli fo sho.

Ronnie Yerman rides down under

Ronnie Yerman, TAVIK skate team rider, just returned home from a trip down to New Zealand. Ronnie competed in two contests, placing 13th in the Wellington Bowl-A-Rama in NZ and 30th in the Bondi-Bowl-A-Rama Pro division was in Australia. Bust moves and get weird with TAVIK at Coachella 2011!

It’s that time again. The Coachella Festival has announced its lineup, and it’s pretty stacked. Arcade Fire, Kanye West, the Strokes, Animal Collective, PJ Harvey, the National, Bright Eyes, Robyn, Ariel Pink, Interpol, Cut Copy, Crystal Castles, Lauryn Hill, Sleigh Bells, Cee-Lo, Lightning Bolt, the reunited Big Audio Dynamite and Suede, Duran Duran, Erykah Badu, the Black Keys, Titus Andronicus, Best Coast, the Kills, the New Pornographers, Lil B, HEALTH, OFF!, Odd Future, and the Chemical Brothers are among the acts playing.

And: Wow. Death From Above 1979 have reunited.

That poster above has the complete lineup so far. The festival will come to the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California on April 15-17.
